Texas is divided into 38 areas called districts, each with about 800,000 people. Every two years your district elects one U.S. Representative — one of 435 in Washington, and the only one who answers to you. They vote on laws that touch your health care, your taxes and your rights.

Henry Cuellar has represented the Laredo-based 28th District since 2005 and is the only sitting Democrat in the U.S. House who opposes abortion rights. He and his wife were indicted in 2024 on bribery and money-laundering charges tied to foreign payments; he has pleaded not guilty and is running for re-election while the case proceeds.
Marlon DuranHe grew up undocumented in McAllen before becoming a community organizer and the Green Party's candidate for Congress in his home district.

Marlón Durán is a longtime community organizer and English/Spanish translator from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Having grown up undocumented himself, he says ICE, DHS, and CBP enforcement 'tear families apart,' and he's campaigning as the Green Party's 2026 nominee to give South Texans an option outside the two major parties.
Tano TijerinaHe was first elected Webb County Judge as a Democrat in 2014, then switched to the Republican Party in December 2024 before launching this congressional run.
