Joe Paz Herrera is a 20-year resident of Natalia in Medina County who worked for Hershey, Bimbo Bakeries, and Ferrara Candy before entering politics. He ran three times as the Democratic nominee for Texas House District 53 (2020, 2022, 2024), losing each time, and is now running for State Senate District 24. His campaign centers on rising grocery and food costs, drawing on his food-industry background and ties to HEB.

About Peter
Pete Flores of Pleasanton is the incumbent state senator for District 24 and was the first Hispanic Republican ever elected to the Texas Senate. He built his career over nearly three decades as a game warden and law-enforcement officer before entering politics, first winning a special election in 2018 and being reelected in 2022. In 2025 he chaired the Senate's investigation into the deadly July 2025 Hill Country floods and authored a bill cracking down on AI-generated child exploitation material.
