TEXAS MIDTERM 2026
WHY THIS RACE MATTERS
Your State Representative is one of 150 people who write Texas law, and yours is elected to represent your area of Hays County.
WHO’S RUNNING
Catherine Thorne
Democrat
Catherine Thorne won her 2026 Democratic primary for Texas House District 62 unopposed, but almost nothing else about her has been reported publicly yet.
Shelley Luther
Republican
She was sentenced to a week in jail for keeping her Dallas hair salon open during the COVID-19 lockdown — though she served only about two days before Gov. Abbott and the Texas Supreme Court got her released — and it's the reason she's in the Texas House today.
