Your State Representative is one of 150 people who write Texas law, and yours is elected to represent your area of Hays County. Every two years they decide how much money your kids' school gets, whether your property tax bill goes up or down, and whether Texas takes federal money for health care or turns it away. Brad BaileyBailey chairs The Woodlands Township board of directors and is running for the open seat after Steve Toth left to run for Congress.

In 2012 Bailey, then a Houston-area restaurateur, lobbied Republican convention delegates to support a legal pathway for foreign workers and softer immigration rhetoric — a position he has since reversed.
Jessi CowartCowart is Vice Chair of the Libertarian Party of Texas and has chaired the Libertarian Party of Montgomery County since 2021.
