His campaign centers on fully funding public schools, expanding rural healthcare access, and pairing border security with a legal path to citizenship for hardworking immigrants.
Chris SpencerChris Spencer has run the same rural grocery distribution company, Crump Foods, for nearly 30 years — and Governor Abbott later put him in charge of managing an entire river basin.

Spencer is a lifelong East Texan from Morris County who serves as President and CEO of Crump Foods and has chaired the Sulphur River Basin Authority since a 2018 appointment by Governor Abbott. He's running for the open Texas House District 1 seat after narrowly winning a contested Republican primary, campaigning on eliminating property taxes and securing the border.
