Daniel is the father of DJ Daniel, a young cancer survivor honored by more than 1,300 law enforcement agencies nationwide, and ran as a self-described political outsider.
He previously ran in the November 2025 special election for the U.S. House seat in Texas's 18th Congressional District, finishing with about 1% of the vote and not advancing to the runoff.
