Who Sylvia is
Sylvia Garcia was one of the House managers who prosecuted Donald Trump's first impeachment trial in the Senate — the first Hispanic person ever to hold that role.
About Sylvia
Garcia grew up in a family of migrant farmworkers in Palito Blanco, Texas, and went on to become a Houston Municipal Court judge, a Harris County Commissioner, and a Texas state senator before winning her Houston-based congressional seat in 2018. She's now seeking re-election in a newly redrawn TX-29, where Republican mapmakers cut the district's Hispanic voting population nearly in half in an attempt to weaken her support.
