Tarrant CountyCriminal CourtNo. 6
Republican
When someone is accused of a lower-level crime in Tarrant County, such as a family violence assault, a county criminal court judge handles the case. Randi Hartin is the Republican judge of Court No. 6, a court her party's 2022 profile called the county's second dedicated family violence court.
Hartin worked on both sides of the courtroom: first as a Tarrant County prosecutor, then as a defense attorney. Her 2022 campaign profile says she has handled thousands of criminal cases and promised to cut backlogs left over from the pandemic.
Judges aren't allowed to take sides on these values — it's against judicial ethics rules. The best clue to how a judge thinks is the party they run with.
