Melanie Medley-Thomas spent her career working in the health insurance industry in Dallas before deciding to run for the Texas House.
Medley-Thomas ran unopposed in the Republican primary for Texas House District 103 and says her background navigating the insurance system has prepared her to tackle complex policy issues in Austin. She is a first-time candidate challenging longtime incumbent Rafael Anchía in a district covering North Oak Cliff, West Dallas, and nearby Dallas County communities.
