The County Clerk keeps the records of your life: marriage licenses, property deeds, and paperwork for the county courts. Mary Louise Nicholson has run that office since January 2011 and is asking voters for a fifth term.

Before becoming clerk, Nicholson spent eight years on the Tarrant County Sheriff's command staff. She grew up in a military family in Fort Worth and graduated with honors from UT Arlington. She also sits on the county's Elections Commission and chairs the board of the statewide retirement system for county workers. Her campaign says her 160-person team has saved taxpayers $13 million.
