The 432nd District Court is a felony court, where the most serious criminal cases are tried. Lee Sorrells, the Republican candidate, says he started in 2007 as a Tarrant County jailer, became a deputy and sergeant, then went to law school.

His campaign site says he spent nine years in the Tarrant DA's office, rising to felony court chief and then chief of its juvenile division. He says he was named Prosecutor of the Year in 2023. Since November 2024 he has been an associate judge hearing juvenile cases. He lists Tim O'Hare, the county judge, as an endorser.

Judges aren't allowed to take sides on these values — it's against judicial ethics rules. The best clue to how a judge thinks is the party they run with.
