At 84, John Carter is a former county judge who has represented this Central Texas district in Congress for more than two decades.

About John

Carter served as a Williamson County judge before winning his U.S. House seat in 2002 and has held it ever since, making him one of the longest-serving members of the Texas delegation. He won re-nomination in the 2026 GOP primary with 60% of the vote in a crowded field that included the man known as the 'ShamWow Guy.' He is running for a twelfth term as a strong ally of President Trump's agenda.
