J.M. Lozano, a Kingsville restaurateur, has represented District 43 since 2011 and currently chairs the House Urban Affairs Committee.
Lozano switched parties from Democrat to Republican in 2012 and represents the Bee, Calhoun, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Refugio, and San Patricio county area.
Lozano’s take on Texas values
Lozano voted for the law that created a taxpayer-funded private school voucher program in April 2025, giving families public money for private school tuition.
