Tarrant CountyCourt at LawNo. 2
Republican
County courts at law hear lawsuits over money up to $250,000, like debts, contracts and injury claims from car wrecks. Jennifer Rymell, a Republican, is the only name on the ballot for Court at Law No. 2.
Rymell was first elected in 2002 and is in her sixth term. Before that she was a Fort Worth municipal court judge, a lawyer in the State Bar of Texas's attorney discipline office, and an assistant Parker County attorney. She says she believes in strict interpretation of the law.
Judges aren't allowed to take sides on these values — it's against judicial ethics rules. The best clue to how a judge thinks is the party they run with.
