Precinct 2 used to send a Democrat to the county's five-member board, the group that sets your property tax rate and decides where you vote. In June 2025, the board's Republican majority redrew it to favor their party. Jared Williams, who served two terms on the Fort Worth City Council, is running to keep the seat anyway.
Williams has spent more than 15 years running nonprofits, including work at a local food bank that helps working families. He holds science degrees from Fort Valley State, TCU and the University of North Texas, and is studying at Brite Divinity School. His family has deep roots in the precinct, and they are raising their children there. He says he'll fight unfair property tax appraisals and protect voting access and people's right to speak at county meetings.
