Before running for Congress, Jake Ellzey flew fighter jets off aircraft carriers for the Navy and later became a commercial airline pilot.
Ellzey was raised in Perryton, Texas, and spent 20 years in the Navy flying combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan before entering politics. He briefly served in the Texas House in 2021, then won a special election to Congress that same year after Rep. Ron Wright died in office. He is now seeking a third full term representing the district that stretches from the Fort Worth area down toward the coast.
Ellzey’s take on Texas values
Ellzey has not supported expanding federal healthcare assistance like Medicaid/ACA expansion in Texas; he emphasizes cutting federal spending rather than adding healthcare programs. [Vote Smart]
