Erin Zwiener, Democrat candidate for TX State House • District 45

Erin Zwiener

Candidate for TX State House • District 45Democrat

Who Erin is

Zwiener flipped this Hill Country seat in 2018 — the first Democrat to hold it in a decade — and she's spent every session since fighting for the one thing the whole district runs on: water.

About Erin

A fifth-generation Texan who lives in Driftwood with her husband and daughter, she came out of conservation work in Montana, restoring wildlife habitat, before coming home. In Austin she co-wrote the law that lets Hays County bank water underground in the Trinity Aquifer for droughts, pushed to give the county power to set water rules for the subdivisions cities can't reach, and passed dark-skies protections so you can still see the stars over the Hill Country. Texas Monthly called her the savviest freshman in the House and a future leader of its Democrats. She beat Tennyson Moreno for this seat in 2024; he's back for a rematch.
