He's an Army veteran and former federal prosecutor who beat Mayra Flores (no relation) by more than 30 points in the GOP primary.
Flores served in the U.S. Army and Texas Army National Guard, then worked as an assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting cases in South Texas. He holds a law degree from Texas Southern University. He's running with Donald Trump's endorsement, focused on border security, veterans, and Second Amendment rights.
