U.S. HouseDistrict 27

Dan McQueen

Independent

McQueen was elected mayor of Corpus Christi in 2016 and quit 37 days later in an explosive Facebook post, after being embroiled in controversy after controversy — unpaid taxes, a college degree that didn't check out, and a $61,000-a-year chief-of-staff job he handed to his live-in girlfriend.

A Navy veteran and contractor from Nueces County, he made an unsuccessful run for Congress in a different district in 2022, and is on the ballot this time as an independent. He has no campaign website.
