Tarrant CountyCriminal CourtNo. 2
Republican
County criminal courts decide Class A and B misdemeanor cases, the less serious crimes such as drunk driving, theft and some assaults. Carey Walker, a Republican, is the candidate for Criminal Court No. 2, where he has been the judge.
Walker ran his own law practice for 18 years before being elected judge in 2014. He has a law degree from Texas Tech (1984). In recent years the Texas Bar Foundation named him a Foundation Fellow, an honor it says goes to about one-third of one percent of Texas lawyers each year.
Judges aren't allowed to take sides on these values — it's against judicial ethics rules. The best clue to how a judge thinks is the party they run with.
