Before Congress, Brian Babin spent decades as a small-town dentist in Woodville, Texas, and even served as mayor there.
Babin is an Air Force veteran who flew home to East Texas after his military service to open a dental practice, then spent years in local office — Woodville mayor, city council, school board — before winning Texas's 36th District seat in 2014. He's now serving his sixth term and chairs the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, focusing heavily on border security, oil and gas, and opposing federal gun restrictions.
Babin’s take on Texas values
Babin signed a letter alleging 2020 election fraud, said he'd 'lost confidence in our national elections,' joined a Supreme Court case seeking to discard millions of votes in four states, and voted to exclude some states' electors on January 6, 2021 — consistent with pushing stricter voting rules rather than opposing them.
