A veterinarian from Killeen who has run his own practice since 1994 and chairs the Texas House Public Education Committee.
He co-authored the Texas Heartbeat Act (SB 8), the 2021 law that banned abortion once cardiac activity is detectable, around six weeks into pregnancy.
