Armando Walle grew up the oldest of five kids raised by a single mom in Houston's Northside, and became the first person in his family to graduate college.
Walle has represented House District 140 in north Houston and north Harris County since 2009 and is now seeking a tenth term. He's an attorney and Deputy Floor Leader for House Democrats who has pushed for flood control funding, maternal health programs, and clinics in underserved neighborhoods, and he's known for speaking bluntly against bills he sees as harmful to his largely Latino district.
Walle’s take on Texas values
Walle joined the 2025 Democratic walkout that left the state for weeks to block the mid-decade congressional redistricting map pushed after Trump asked Texas to redraw districts to favor Republicans. [NPR; Texas Tribune]
