The 297th District Court is a felony court, so it handles the serious criminal cases in the county. Amy Allin is its judge. Governor Abbott appointed her on February 25, 2025, replacing retired Judge David Hagerman, and she is on the ballot to keep the seat.
Allin spent about eight years in the Tarrant County District Attorney's office and became a felony court chief, where she prosecuted hundreds of cases. She studied advertising at the University of Illinois and law at Catholic University. She has no campaign website, and we found no news coverage of her rulings.
Judges aren't allowed to take sides on these values — it's against judicial ethics rules. The best clue to how a judge thinks is the party they run with.
